Which Gearbox Oil?

Hullo all, quick question!
30th December 1996 P reg 24v Cosworth, 55k miles... should I use Dextron II or Dextron III?
I've found a place that'll do my oil for £30 if I supply all the bits.. i've got everything but the oil so if I can source nine litres of good but cheap oil by 4:30 then I can book it in! It's a race! Run! Ahh!

Result! Booked in for tomorrow morning, 8:30 - 9:30.
When I had the car up on axel stands earlier I did a few pics of the oily mess. Decided it's the gasket. The last picture makes it look like a Porsche Cayenne style Scorpio Jeep... Funny.

Oil and filter done, changes are silky smooth.
Thats the good news.
The bad news.
I've been ill for far too long, i've been off work too much and the Scorpio is probably going to have to go.
This isn't 100% definate yet. Probably 90% though.

hi dave im gonna have a scoot round in the morn and try to get a few quotes on how much to get my oil changed on my 2.3 ultima sorry to see that u may have to get shut of the scorp cos u have been off work too long all the best musicmaster

Hi All,
Ben here (Dave's brother). Just came back from hols to see this post, tis a shame indeed. I think, however, that the odds have swung slightly now (hopefully) as there were a number of circumstances that conspired against Dave and his scorp the other day to make him feel like that.
Just read George (Vulcan's) post about his scorp and its sad but if needs must...
Anyway, I am hoping David keeps the scorpio long enough for me to get my employment situation sorted out then I may possibly be able to buy it off him (hope you read this David and give me "family discount"  )

Hmmmmmm.
Thanks for the sentwements guys. I got all depressed when I thought of getting rid. It does indeed seem things have turned around a bit.. long story.
Family discount? Pff! Well we'll see. But as long as I have money, she stays with me. I don't know how long that'll be...
Ben, our eBay auctions end today. They're doing b a d l y. Back to the drawing board.
