Hi All.

Just recieved new rad for 2.9 auto 12v from GBM Parts
Norfolk.

Oddly it has a nylon disk about 15mm diameter in mesh

on one side. Dont know purpose of this.

Rang GBM, but all rads of this type have this oddity !

Can  anyone advise me ?

not sure at all about that one Eugene ... no doubt someone here will know .. I have a feeling that I have seen it on the Granada ..with air con .. just a guess would be that it a protection from fan damage.... is it on the front or the engine side .. the granada air con fan which does come loose ..is at the front ... hmmm .. check the connections under the front wings , attached  to the inner wing , they get all the water and rubbish and are my first place to look. I check mine on a regular basis and keep them clean and smear the out side with silicone grease to keep the water out..
The rear ones are inder the rear seats.
Other than that have check around the sensor rings to make sure they are free from debris and not chipped or broken .

Well worth having a read through this  THIS though

Thanks STN & Snoopy...

ABS light went out after long drive..Thinking this must have something to do with the battery being disconnected for a while. ECU perhaps ?

Just replaced mine (from Trevor at FMC). It had the little nylon disc, as did the old (original) rad. Stamped with different numbers (whatever that means).
