Scorpio Light Switch

My problem is the multi socket behind the switch, which is slightly melted.does anyone know of a mod, tip, or any way to repair/replace this socket. I'm led to believe that the scorpio is the only car to use this switch/socket. Any help would be most welcome.

Thanks.
Jannymanny.

I had a similar problem, but only with a single connector in the block, I managed to cut out the connector plate in the block and replace it with a speaker connector ( after cutting off the red plastic sleeve ).

The only problem is that it makes removing the switch a little tricky in future as the new connector doesn`t pull out with the blue plug.

Granada switches are similar and can be cannibalised for parts to rebuild the switch.
Just keep your eyes on the ball bearings.Used as detent stops and are backed by two tiny coils springs.

Thanks for the help lads, but as my problem is the plug rather than the switch itself, I think I'll try the speaker connector first.  Incase things don't go to plan I'd rather have George's spare socket standing by. I'm hopeful of not needing a switch, but if I do need to get one,the FORD man says for £36 he'll get one.

PS. I also need a remote.

Thanks.
