remote opening and closing

i have a key fob that works when it feels like it. have tried new batteries to no avail. just wondering if it is the remote at fault or the sensor in the car. does anyone have any ides? sometimes it works from 30 yards away and other times it doesn`t even work from 30mm away. dead annoying!

There is a thread running at the mo on Give advice. The rubber buttons can lose their conductivity and various repairs have been tried including coating them with a special conductive paint. The first reply to your query deals with the other matters. HTH

Hi There, If you wish to programe TWO (2) or more remotes into the system you have to use the method as described on the main site....
I know this from past experience.
I have always programed my remote by the method as described in the handbook.... 'Turn the key to position one etc, etc ' , But I recently purchased a second remote and I fifound that I could only progamme the TWO remotes b onto the car by the method as described on the web site.....
It took me several attempts , but it does work....

i read somewhere, that if changing the battries, you have ten seconds to do it. after that you need to re-progamme.

thanks to everyone for the advice, did the cleaning routine to no avail, but the metallic tape seems to have done the trick. where would we be without this site
