Not a Scorpio...but can anyone help?

Sorry about this, but I'm at the old wits end with my Sons Fiesta 1.3 Encore (fuel injection). I hope somebody can help and i apologise in advance if this is against site rules. The car starts beautifully and runs like a good 'un but if you take your foot off the throttle the car seems to misfire. As you come to a halt it always stalls, but starts on the key again instantly. I have changed plugs/air-filter/fuel-filter. Should I look to the HT leads?
Any help much appreciated as always.
Regards
Brian

not enough info really Brian .... but the centre-point injection does play up on those .. look in the "carb" centre and see what the fuel supply is ..on as near tickover as poss ..on carburettors it would be the idle jet spray ..  in the past though after rebuilding them .. we have usually ended up with a second hand or new unit ... ..not much help i'm afraid but I feel it's where your problem lays ... regards  ....STN

STN.... Dont these valencia engine have SFI in the later festa's? or is that the same thing as u describe.......  I would check for air leaks around the inlet m/fold and the unit itself.  You could always remove a spark plug to see how weak the ngine is running........  Misfire on decelleration would point to fuel rather than electrical  i think.......  If it is the carb unit then they are easy to change...

yep Nick ... single/center point fuel injection .. but for Brians ease it just looks like a carb doesn't it really .. stuck there where a carb should be ..  Shocked ..and as you say ..simple to get and simple to change ..
