Problems with gear changes being late/early or harsh at different times od light flashes occasionaly and engine hunts . i have cleaned the maf and no change cleaned the icv no change and when i disconect the maf there is non or very little change could this be a malfunctioning maf

Wumpster, If you have disconnected the MAF and there was no change then the problem is elsewhere, You need to meet with an owner with an OBD lead and find out what trouble codes are stored. The flashing O/D light is a warning that a fault has been detected. See http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/odlight.htm Give your location and hopefully an owner will meet with you.

hi eric when i disconect the maf the gear changes go very harsh but the hunting does not go and when conected the gear changes do allsorts of strange things like late changing and early changing and the od light sometimes comes on and flashes then other times it does not come on but still get the unusual changes
