Ford Mondeo alarm.

Nothing to do with scorps, but i just bought my son a 93 mondeo. The alarm fob has only one button and after unlocking the car the flashing light goes out .Then when i try to start it the light flashes again and the engine turns over but will not start (immobiliser?). Does anyone know the correct sequence to turn off the immobilliser. Maybe its a pat 1 system. Any help would be really appreciated. john.n

hi there
have you tried both locks? i take it the alarm/pats can be armed from the doors. 
all i've got on it is how to put it into dianogstic mode.
