indicator switch

Hi all
I'm starting to get a high pitched buzzing noise from somewhere inside the steering column cover, and the indicators dont work. Problem started with left turns only,and only when switch was on dip,and it was cold. Today the problem persists on left or right turns,but goes away when the interior warms up.
Faulty switch? Expensive? Switch repairable?
I 've not had time to look at it yet,probably be weekend now, so wondered if anyone knew of this problem
