hi, i have a 24v 1996,recently purchased so not sure of previous new parts or probs, when i start the car she runs lovely, however if in park i just press the accelerator very slightly and increase the revs to 1500 the car starts to hunt constantly between 1000 and 2000 ? this causes a problem when cruising at these revs as you can feel the car unsure what to do?all i know is ford in loughborough fitted a 50k engine with a £1200 service incl two new cats thrown in ,(ouch)10k miles ago,i have cleaned m.a.f but not sure where to look next, please any clues

hi there it might be, though i would look to the egr pipework. it could be one of the 't' or 'h' pieces in the back/under the cover of the engine. the heat gets to them and they crack. have you had a obd-2 scan done? egr issues usually leave a code.
