doing 100 on private road (obviously) toe down and instant accelleration in 24v cosworth but at 110 I was at over 5000 revs - in my probe it was like this in 3rd gear - I sem to be missing a gear? For a car with a top speed of over 130 - something wrong with auto box?

Did you switch the overdrive off to give you better accelaration and forget to put it back on again?

Were you towing a caravan Sardine? The cossie should be just over tickover at 100mph (ok I am exaggerating a little). Nick

Sounds like you had the O/D switched off or it's not changing into top gear for some reason as Mine at 110 is just over 4000, of course if you're gunning it, it won't actually change up into top until it's above 120+

Thanks for replies - I didn't change the OD off but may have 'kicked down' to get to that speed - is it the case then that in 'economy' mode it would stay in 3rd until redline and then engage OD (change into 4th) - I don't think my foot was burried in the carpet?
