Is there a Doctor in the house My 24v has Scorpiocciss and needs a large injection of cash  Angry
Thursday new tow bar fitted
Friday 4 new boots (tyres) rear brakes and an oil change
Saturday went to pick up caravan from storage got within 20 miles of home and bang burst radiator  Cry
Am I glad I kept up the Rac cover that I,ve had for the last 4 years and never used.
I towed with my 16v last year and no problems, within 15 minutes of towing with the 24v SCORPIOCCISS sets in.
Boy do I need a drink  Tongue

Hi all, it's now wednesday and the motor is still in the workshop, they sent the rad off to be fixed but I was told yesterday that they could not get a new matrix in the rad so a new one had to be ordered, as yet it has not arrived  Angry
I rang the local ford garage in Plymouth yesterday and was told a new rad would cost £296.61 +vat but I have been told by the place I am having the car repaired that the whole cost
New Rad
Coolant
Labour
Vat
Will come to £323.00 all in ?
is it me or are Ford parts a rip off !
Heres hoping I get it back soon.
PS.
Don't break down when holidaying down here you have to wait days for parts.....

get Yellow Pages out, look under Radiators-Motor and you should find pleanty of companies to re core your rad, had scorp rads done a few times inc 24v. should cost a fraction of ford price.

Shaun,
When you fitted the new radiator, did you change the thermostat?  Especially if you're towing where there'll be an extra load on the engine, if the 'stat is not opening properly this will blow your new radiator, too.
