Cruise control delay

Is it normal for the cruise control to have about a 5 sec delay when engaging. Not a great problem but when switching on and off on the motorway can be a little annoying waiting for it to kick in. Thanks

hi there it needs to take up the slack in the cable to the throttle, hence the 'delay'. hth
