PAT's LED faint

Hi all,
I am slowley getting through the problems of my recent purchase...2ltr, 96 estate...
Now upto hopefully changing the PAT's LED which is very faint...
Can anybody tell me how the LED can be detached from the dashboard and worked on above the dashboard before I start priseing at it as I read an earlier post of the thing vanishing down below the dashboard..don't want that to happen.....
