Hello all, I am after an easy to get at 12v switched supply  (around 11amps required ) for the caravan socket, I thought I had seen a point mentioned on the site, but try as I might can not find it..

A spare fuse would be ideal, but I could put an inline fuse if required. Also info on the best place to come through the bulkhead would be appreciated..

Cheers

John,

I ran a lead straight back to the battery via a relay which was switched off the radio ignition feed. It runs all the electronic gizmos in the boot, DVD, Video, TV Tuner as well as the screens in the rear headrests. I also run a coolbox and other bits off two power sockets mounted in the boot. The lead is fused at 30 amps then down rated at a fuse block in the boot where all the other items are then individuallly fused down to various ampages!!

There is a hole filled with a large rubber grommet behind the battery which comes out just above the pull down flap in the glove box.

I mounted the relay in here alongside the other couple then ran the output via the covers over the door sill wiring channels and into the boot. Everything goes back nicely and nothing is visable

Thanks Baz 'n' Nick,

I think I will use a relay and go straight to the battery.
I have a Smartcom split relay for the rear, good idea about putting a Cigar socket in the back for the cooler, will provide for that..
Can you tell me the wire you used for the relay control with out me getting the meter out..
Mine is the 2ltr, 96 estate..

Cheers
