hi there

yes, it will be fine. really cheap/ older type filters never had the valve. fram filters are made to OE spec. make sure you use good oil, like croma x-tech sae 5W-30 semi synthetic oil.

hi there

yes, should be fine as long as it's a sae 5W-30 oil. i've found that the ford formula E oil is best but at about £25 for 5 litre, a bit expensive. i try a few others (change my oil a lot), but this croma x-tech(£16) seems good, imo.

It is not a " non return" valve it is a full flow bypass filter with a presure valve incorperated into it, that should the filter get blocked in any way the oil will by-pass the filter and still flow around the engine thereby still giving the reuired lubrication,
"Primary filters are standard on most engines. They are also called “full-flow” because 100% of the engine oil passes through them in normal operation. The filters must work without introducing a lot of restriction, or else oil will not flow into the engine during cold start-ups. This is one reason the full-flow filter allows passage of the comparatively small contaminants; trying to catch everything would restrict flow.  If blockage occurs in the filter, bypass valves open. This allows oil to go around the filter and back to the engine. In this situation, lubrication with unfiltered oil is better than none at all.

Verry intresting disscution about oil filters with valve. I'm defently getting a valve one, but there's a question, wich of EFL 600 or EFL 90 (written in scopr. manual) contains a valve, and wich is better Huh

2.0L is the EFL600.

Have fun and roll up your sleeve,I suggest putting a pile of rags or similar over top of starter motor to catch the gush of oil that comes out!

I'm hoping  that  the Halfords  brand  has  this  feature,   as  I  tend  to  use   their  oil   filters.

They may be re-cycled Baked Bean Cans Eddie, but I have been assured  by Halfords that  none of their products are tested on Animals, in fact  some of them are not even tested on cars !

only fitted by animals, that aside, halfords do not make oil filters, neither do ford, they all out source, if you look inside the filter through the hole in the middle you can see the valve.
