Climate Control

I ahve read the information on the site re re-calibrating the climate control. About half way through the instructions for doing this, when trying to select 50 in the passenger side control, the information says that on some 1995 models this might not work indicating a fault in the system.

I have a 1995 2.9 12V Ultima and this happens when I try to re-calibrate.

At the moment the climate control works but I am having to set high numbers to get any heat, currently between 22 and 25, when I would expect to be setting lower numbers in these conditions.

Does anyone have any idea what the problem is that causes re-calibration not to work.

hi there

set the dials as per the normal reset, then disconnect the battery for 10 mins. remember to have your radio code. see if that helps.

The problem is I can not set the dials as the system freezes up before I can dial in the 50 code.

hi there

i should have made myself clearer. just turn the dials to where they should be to do the reset. it doesn't matter if it freezes. leave them there and then disconnect the battery (remembering the radio code). you're doing a 'hard' system reset. hopefully that'll do it. after doing it, try to reset as per normal. see if it works now. if not, you need to try a new front panel first.
