One-press front window up/down
« on: Apr 21st, 2005, 11:00am »
Quote Quote Modify Modify

The facility for completely opening or closing a front window using just a quick press of the window button has stopped working properly on my passenger side.

A quick press will fully open it OK, but it will not close using a single quick press, I have to keep the button pressed.  It was working OK last time I used it.  Single press closure does not work using either the driver's door or passenger's door button.

The driver's window still works OK using this process.

Anybody any ideas?

Thanks.

Roger.

Not sure, but I thought it was only the drivers side that did the one press close. It is on mine anyway. Are you sure it was working on the passenger side before?

Hello Nodge, perhaps you are right. My daughter was a front seat passenger and I thought she used it - unless it was the open action only.

I have not had this car very long and it's had so much gone wrong with it since I've had it that something not working properly is the first thing I suspect!

Cheers.

I had another look at the driver's handbook, and it only mentions 'one-shot' down - nothing about 'one-shot' up.  You must both be right.

I think I must be getting paranoid.

Thanks.

on the drivers window,IF they lower with 1 shot but dont go up,try this.................

open the window by keeping your finger on the down side of the switch, and hold it there after the window has fully gone down for 3 seconds, then do EXACTLY the same putting the window up,hopefully this should solve the problem, might be someone has disconnected the battery, and not re-set the windows......

Ah, but I think you'll find that in that instance, the window will actually stop itself going up and come down instead (I think  Undecided)

I think the Mondeo mod involves adding relays to the wiring which is already in place for if the car was a lhd model. I would have thought changing the control box on the scorpio passenger door for a drivers door might work!!
