temp guage and fuel both read half way

Both fuel guage and temp guage go halfway on switching on and stay there. Is there any other problem that could cause this other than the solder joint problem on back of dash. Do not relish removing dash if there is another cause.

but to get the guages out you have to remove the dash or am I missing something.

Hi there, Just let you know i did this last night! You have to remove the entire 'wooden' facia of the dash to get to the instruments. Then you'll need a small torx driver to remove the back of the instrument panel. Once you've removed it you need to carefully lift the circuit board and you'll need to look carefully for the affected solder, it's very small. I used a small screwdriver to scrape off the joint between the pins. Let me know how you get on
