Would you Adam & Eve it, 5 months into Scorpio ownership my n/s CAT decided to croak and die discovering that they had a life expectancy of approx. 6years I decided to change them both and this is where the fun began Original spec Ford CATS are mounted onto the manifold by a series of studs both mounted on the manifold AND on the CATs themselves. Aftermarket ones DO NOT and no fixing kit appeared to be on offer either I managed to obtain after some effort some standard exhaust bolts which were able to be used along with geniune gaskets and manifold studs and nuts, 2 clamps were also needed in order to connect them to the flexy pipes as the original clamps are welded on and required cutting off. Parts list complete I then gave the car to my local garage (trusted) where the whole process took nearly 5 hours to complete due to as expected siezed nuts and broken studs. A job not for the faint hearted and certainly not a cheap one either - Ouch my wallet!!!! OddJob
