Interior Noise

Hi All My 2.3 Ultima has recently developed an annoying "squelchy" type sound as the car gently bounces up and down whilst driving along, not too dissimilar to a squeaky seat spring (which it is not). It is difficult to be totally sure but the sound seems as if it is coming from behind the dash on the drivers side. Has anyone else experienced this and come up with a solution?

Thanks for that information Andrew. Just out of curiosity, how were you able to identify that as your problem because if it were the same sort of noise it is so difficult to pinpoint the source of it from inside the car?
