Make sure that the green L.E.D. is illuminated this confirms that you have power to it, (It will only notice the dimming affect with your lights on at night & some one behind you) but sorry to say you'll probably find that the Photochromatic Mirror is shot!! There was a lot of talk on this forum about this. I found the only way round it was to bid on eBay. You’re looking at about £50 to £75 for a second-hand unit but I think that it's at least twice that from ford main dealer.

Cheers Phil, Its only a very faint glow from the LED does that signify anything ?

hi there
 
you can test it by covering the sensor on the back (windscreen side) and shining a torch onto the sensor in the front. it should darking quite quickly.
