Inlet Manifold problem Rreg 2.3

I don't know if any one else has had this problem but if you had any advice I would be grateful. The brass water pipe that leaves the inlet manifold just behind the thermostat housing has come out of the housing - I guess it was bonded in there somehow. We have tried to glue it in before with Araldite but it cane out again after about 3 weeks. The replacement part is £233 inc VAT. (It took Ford Parts about 30 mins and 2 looks at the car to identify the part - there are 3 numbers on the Estimate sheet they printed A18C05 F1024327 P38200). Has anyone got any ideas ? Any better glue than Araldite ? Car is Rreg 2.3 Scorpio Estate. Steve

Hi Steve, You could try high temp silicone , I used this to seal a leaking manifold combined inlet / outlet so coped well with the engine bay heat and if all is cleaned it is a good adesive, you can also build up a bead externally to increase the surface area to improve the bond.. Most epoxy glues as Areldite, Liquid metal etc will go soft in hot conditions. Best of luck John
