cannot unlock tail gate

I am unable to unlock the tailgate on my 95 cosworth estate,there is no power to the switches and the key no longer works the rest of the doors work OK any advice would be appreciated

I think you will find you can undo the 2 bolts that hold the lock keep (10mm head) from inside the car. At least you can then open it and investigate. john.n

Hi,
When mine stuck, I disconnected the cables from the central locking module behind the glove box. When you plug the cables back in that unlocks the boot.
