hi there sounds like one or both fuseboxes are damp/wet and everything is sorting! http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/fusebox.htm also look across the front x member. this is a known problem in the wiring. have you tried opening from the passenger side? same results?

hi there try a hairdryer and then some wd-40. do you have some of the wee packets of 'stuff' you get with shoes etc. it dries things out. put that in over night. do you have a battery cover fitted? is the drain tubes clear?http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/acdrain.htm btw, you can reach behind the battery and disconnect the alarm horn.

Had a similar problem, i had disconnected the battery and when i reconected it the alarm would't stop and lights keept on flashing. Also my fuseboxes were sunk in water / dirt. After cleaning / drying when i reconnected the battery couldn't stop the alarm. The thing was to keep all doors closed and reconect the battery with the bonet switch pressed, only the light comed on for a few minutes and after that it was ok.

I would go along with the cause being water in the fuseboxes ,but if there is enough water to cause that much shorting i.e window controls ,in my opinion the only reliable way to cure it is to completly strip and clean fuse boxes ,along with all fuse/relay contacs and the connectors under the dash ,my first stop would be the drivers side main fuse box ,i had similar probs with mine and although wd40 etc works it is usually only temporary ,i found it better to rebuild box and cover with a plastic seal aerosol hope this helps colin
