Hi Craig,

Wire 1 connects to the Orange Wire (+12v)
Wire 3 connects to the Blue wire (Indicator wire)
Wire 4 connects to the Blue and Red wire (Indicator wire)

thanks there fitzy, had time to have a quick look today (thats about it as it is p****ing down here today Angry Angry),think i have a case of scotch-lock syndrome  Undecided Undecided
when the weather gets better, will probably do as advised and go round and have a go at soldering all the conections, that should hopefully sort the problem out..
thanks again...

Thats ok mate.  I'm still having the same problem with mine even though i have soldered most of the connections especially the ones to the locking and unlocking wires.  Mine still seems to global open everything when it just feels like it even though i don't unlock, relock and unlock it, but it still opens all the windows and sunroof, bit of a b****r especially when its raining and i have to get in as quick as possible and start the car up as thats the only way to stop the procedure from continuing. will probably have to solder every joint and see how that goes otherwise i might have to remove the mod altogether.

well did turn out to be scotch lock syndrome in the end, might well be worth people taking note here, scotch locks seem to be perfect as a quick fix in the short term in my opinion, but on something like this might be well worth taking the time to solder all the connections..... Undecided Undecided

Agree I had an Escort once where someone hat put a scotchlock on near the battery and every so often the car would cut out completely and I had to get out, pop the bonnet and poke at the scotchlock 'til the alarm made a noise and I could carry on my way! IMO, soldering is the only sure way of making sure you have a good secure connection that is unlikely to cause problems.

Craig,

Yes, i've the problem since the first day i fitted the mod, Steve Collister even exchanged for a new one but i still got the same problem.  I've soldered all the joints for the locking and unlocking, all the others are still scotchlocked, so i think firstly i should solder all the joints and see how that goes in case there is a problem with them.  If still present will either have to remove it or suspect the solonoids in the drivers door.

Will keep the sit informed as to my findings.

fitzy...

i would recommend soldering ALL the joints, even though on mine it was the 2 wires to the hazzard flasher, this knocked out the buzzer under the bonnet,as well the central locking on go function,so yes i would guess that if only 1 wire is not connected properly,it could (and did on mine) knock out th other functions.....
good luck with it all Smiley Smiley
and when you get an hour or so.. Wink Wink

Hi Craig and Fitzy.

Craig it sounds like one of the contacts on the relay inside the global mod has shorted out.
If you send it back to me I will replace the relay FOC.

Fitzy I had your replacement device on my car for over a week and it worked perfectly. If you want you can send it back and I will check it out again. Also I could disable the global opening feature in the software if you want.

The other problem were you were locked out of the car is most probably due to a dodgy connection to the vss signal. Check the connection you made to the vss wire on the back of the radio.

email me on thestylecouncillor@runbox.com for any further info.

Cheers

Steve
What exactly is the global opening and closing mod?
What extra functions does it provide?
Would I be better off trying to get the Comfort Mod sorted if does the same and more?

whats the comfort mod... Huh Huh Huh

anyway, global closing mod in a nutshell, when double locking the car,any window/sunroof thats open will automatically close, when unlocking/locking then unlocking again within 15 seconds, all the windows and roof will open up,you can also have lock on go which means that as you hit approx 15 mph all the doors automatically lock, you also have an audio "beep" as well as indicator flashing for all the remote functions...

Craig
It's a mod that Jamie Austin was developing but due to work pressures never could finish.
He had a clear out a while back of his "Junk" and I got a circuit Board, parts list and info from him.
Still trying to work out what it is all supposed to do.

The global closing mod does allow you to operate it from the remote. The standard Ford design only allowed it from the key. No special programming of the remote is necessary though.

Like Craig, I have no idea what the comfort mod is.
I know there have been various things done, like auto wiper operation (when it rains) and there was talk of one being created that opened the sunroof when the car interior reached a certain temperature.
