Weird courtesy light problem

Hi all,

'smee again!

The courtesy light has not been coming on when I open the front passenger door for ages. I just presumed it's the switch on the door and I was going to swap it out when I got a chance

However, I'm not sure it is as simple now, as the door open indicator on the dash does correctly show when the door is open! Also the puddle light/red light don't work either. Huh

How can this be? Is there a second switch which operates the courtesy light/puddle light etc. seperate from the signal that goes to the dash?

Looking forward to your answers!

Cheers
Martin

Hi there !

Maybe it's a relay for the courtesy lights. There was a procedure to check the time relays, holding the windscreen button push for 10 seconds with engine running ? don't remeber exactly but somebody has to know.

Cheers.

hi there

 have you checked fuse 36?
 also, try this......
turn on ignition. hold in the rear heated screen
button for 10 secs. then start engine while still holding
in the button. this will put the timer module into diagnostic
mode. try all things that use a time delay ie each door, wipers,
radio etc. hopefully will highlight a possible cause.
