BOOT LOCK - AGAIN!!

Have recently bought Scorpio GhiaX Estate (S Reg) with these new fangled computerised keys!!! All the doors lock/unlock with the exception of the BOOT which was working one minute, then decided not to. When unlocking the doors the boot makes a 'whirring' noise so is obviously trying, but getting stuck somewhere -I would think. Anyone got any ideas OTHER than taking the car to pieces please. Thanks - Reg

Just told my husband and he tried it but no luck. It recognises the clicks but just whirrs. The remote doesnt unlock any of the other doors either. It needs resetting or whatever, but cant understand why it wont unlock Boot with the ordinary key. Went shopping one day and came out of supermarket and boot wouldnt open. We are a bit old - 66 and 68 - but not senile yet! Just not used to the luxury of modern technology. Last car was a Granada Ghia X 1982!!! Thanks for your suggestion anyway, glad someone replied.

hi there this is the instructions for the remote...http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/remote.htm once you have the remote working again or even if it doesn't, remove the trim panel. 8 or 10 screws, 2 handles and 4 'fir trees'. you will be able to see all the workings as in photo 1 and 3 of my post. could be something as simple as a control rod which has fallen off etc. post your location, someone might live nearby and could help.
