Seems that the previous garage who worked on my car has lost some parts! Can someone please provide details of which bolts to use to attach the BOB engine to auto gearbox? Also need bolts that fix torque converter to gearbox too? Thanks Gang!

I may have a set of tc bolts in a convertersomewhere as for bell hsg bolts, main agent for the correct ones, unless some one is breaking at the moment, they are all m10 size of different lengths, but the heads are all 13mm, engineering cap screws/bolts of the right length would be a good subsitute, dont forget the 3 for the starter either.

Help with Torque Converter bolts

OK, ordered the bolts for the bell housing to engine from Ford main dealer but they are uncertain which bolts I am refering to with regard to the torque converter! In the Ford workshop manual in section 'A4LDE Automatic Transmission' on page 7 (of 19), drawing S1701022 is applicable to instruction 24 which reads: "Release the torque converter. Remove the four bolts". These are the bolts I require, so can anyone help with identifying these with either FINIS or engineering numbers? These bolts are accessed after removing the starter motor. Thanks.

Try this number with ford E 800152 S72 listed as they are lsited as M10x30mm if that helps I think they are the ones refered to in your text! If you have a look here http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/a4lde.htm and tell me which diagram and number you are refering to then I can give you a definitive answer rather that 'guess'

Thanks Snoops, problem is, the links you referred me to are copies of those that appear on the Ford Microcat system and these do not clearly show the required bolts. Even my local Ford dealer had some choice words to say on how inadequate the diagram is in identifying the bolts. The second drawing in your link shows two bolts that MIGHT be the correct ones, one is numbered 35 but even my Ford dealer would not state his reputation on them being the right ones!

OK get this down boys! The correct Ford part number for the 4 bolts that lock the torque converter is: 7103918 Any part numbers previosuly supplied by other members are not valid.
