Help. I have just aquired a 2.5 diesel estate. It runs fine when the rev counter works but unfortunately the rev counter only works when the engine is cold. When the engine gets warm the rev counter stops working and then the car seems really underpowered and its get up and go, gets up and goes, leaving the car feeling like a very slow snail with regard to acceleration. Someone suggested the MAF but I can't find it to check it so maybe it's missing . Any suggestions gratefully received. Thanks

Try this link.http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/cleanmaf.htm, and see if that helps. The unit is fitted in the rubber ducting from the air filter to the carb. Usually just to the right of the bonnet catch at the very front of the car.
