SPARKS AND INJECTION BUT WILL NOT GO

CAN ANYONE HELP ME  Huh
I HAVE A 2.3 SCORPIO 1997 AND IT HAS A SPARK AND HAS FUEL BEING INJECTED BUT WILL NOT GO.
THE PATS APPEARS TO BE DOING ALL THE RIGHT THINGS , THE ENGINE TURNS OVER ON THE STARTER BUT NO SIGN OF LIFE FROM THE ENGINE.
BATTERY FULLY CHARGED, HAS BEEN LEFT OFF OVER NIGHT AND REPLACED.
IF ANYTHING THERE MAY BE TOO MANY SPATKS,
ANY IDEAS Huh??

CMP sensor faulty! If there is fuel and spark then proivided they all get together at the right time it will run.
 
Thats why I say CMP sensor.
have you had any work done on it to stop it from running.

also check the throttle position sensor and wiring. think eddie had this once and it wouldn't start either. Undecided

THANKS FOR THE SUGGESTIONS. HAVE A WEEK OFF NEXT WEEK (SCHOOL HOLIDAY DUTY) SO CAN TEACH MY SON ABOUT SCORPIOS.  AND I'M SURE SOME SMALL HANDS WILL BE USEFULL

OK Have a look at the TSB 93/1997 which relates to this very problem and point to the fault in the ICV (Idle control Valve) Quote:
Should a customer express concern with a non start or start, run, stall condition, it may be due to a faulty idle air control valve. The idle air control valve should be checked for a black dot on the solenoid and the part number 96XF 9F715 AA. If both of these are present the idle air control valve should be renewed with a revised part.
If the part number is the same as that quoted above but a purple dot is present, or the part number 96XF 9F715 BA; then a revised part has already been fitted.
 
A revised idle air control valve has been fitted in production since 12/96 (build code TT).

THANKS FOR ALL THE REPIES. CHANGED THE CAM SENSOR AND THE THROTTLE CONTROL TO BE SAFE. CHECKED THE IDLE VALVE AND HAD A PURPLE DOT.
GUESS WHAT ........IT'S RUNNING AGAIN
  SO THANKS A LOT.
