Hi! After driving this nigh ~700km left car near the house. Nothing was strange, everything worked fine. this morning could not start - lights are on, bot no even ticking sound froom starter. Some time ago I had problems on motorway - flashing light of airbag, in another day - ABS. In another day was rain and 5cm of water - after driven in at 100km/h - car stopped, but after 30min started again - guess it's dried. technician now checked, and claimed that it's PATS block (said somethink like "no ground from it"...). What could be the problem? fusebox? wiring? PATS? Key? (I do not have red one - it's lost) Just give some advises how to diagnose and where to find the problem! Regards, Maxim ------------------------------------------------------ Recent news: technician have "bypassed" PATH system(instead of one relay now "short with fuse" in central fuse box), now it runs, but still do not know what is the problem - PATH module or something else (fuse/fusebox/path module/loom) So, the questions are: - how to find if PATH is working (puttin key, anfter "on" no any diagnostics flashes, LED just goes off) - have anyone seen such problem? - could is be loom damage? - if it's loom damage, any repair instructions? Tx, Maxim

Before I read about the techician and the PATS I would have guessed faulty 'start blocking' in the autobox.... Can this also have been 'bypassed'?

Hi, As Pursche says my first thought was to try starting it it neutral.... First of all have a look at these if you haven't already: http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/pats.htm http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/faultfinds.htm If the PATS LED shows no faults it looks like it may be an intermittent earthing fault or similar. I would check any wiring to the fuel cut off switch too just in case of a fault there. The all important question: do you have your fusebox cover fitted? If not there may be water in the box itself. Also, there are drain holes underneath. If they are allowed to block up then water cannot escape so will again get the fusebox wet. Hope this helps
