driving the car today,no problems what so ever, park up,do what i have to do,unlock the car,put key in the ignition, turn on,radio comes on,i was listening to cd's before,so i thought something was funny, pressed cd button, get the message check discs, eject the magazine, all is well (as it was working perfectly before turning the engine off),put magazine back in,disc 1 starts to flash then reads check disc, this goes the same for all the discs up to and including no 6,then after this, stereo automatically goes back to the rdio, and if i press the cd button, all i get is the message "check discs".. anybody had this happen ?......PLEASE.........

dirty laser of finally clapping out Craig ? ..it's fairly common ... check the faulty factory earth about six inches back inside the insulation ..cd changer end .. you'll know about it I guess ..instead of being soldered it's just wrapped originally .. hth ... STN

My first action would be to clean the laser head... When my autochanger broke completely I got the message "Disc error"....my problem was the motor would not spin the discs. Hope that is of some use?

thanks guys, had a quick "poke about" today, nothing seems untoward,so at the weekend will hopefully get to see a mate with a scorpio, and check the changers themselves, unit is coming upto 8 years old now so reckon that answers the question.....
