Hi
I did the job about 4 months ago. Its best if you can get someone to help you with these 2 wires.
Your right about the wire going towards the oil filter, if you reach up from underneath you will be able to feel it, if you press the release clip it will come off, if your car is an auto like mine you may find that this wire passes through the gearbox dipstick bracket, I had to cut the plug off the wire and then pull it out. You can then route new wire around the bracket.
The other wire goes to what I think is the anti-knock sensor. This is under the inlet manifold. If you remove the rubber air intake pipes it will give you more room and you will have a better view. If you get a helper to feed the wire down from above (a long thin rod or stick helps to push it down) you can lie under the car and reach up, you will be anble to fell the stud that the wire fits on to, if your helper can get the wire to lie on the stud you should be able to push it on.
It took me and my dad about half an hour to fit the loom to the top of the engine and about an hour and a half to do the bottom two.
Good luck. (Mine runs like new now)
