Hi all, I have a 1996 2.3l saloon which is driving great but recently the light on the dash for the drivers door stays on all the time. The car is locking and unlocking from remote but wont lock from drivers door. If I replace the door lock will this solve the problem or could there be a sensor gone?

Havbe a read of this post http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=Problems;action= display;num=1125689076. and see if that helps. It would appear from my reading that a sensor may have gone. It must be worth accessing the lock unit and trying a spray of WD40 or switch cleaner. If the door doesn't lock with the usual key have you tried another key. You can rebuild the door lock and there is a link on the site showing how it is done.
