Hi I've just been on hols. Car was in airport carpark for 2 weeks. Remote does't work. Have put new batteries in the right way round. Dashboard light not on or flashing. Manual and website says RC Module turns itself off. Can I turn it on or should reprogramming remote work? Phil

If you have pressed the remote buttons more than ten times without the car responding I think you need to reprogram the remote. The receiver on the car will automatically switch off after 96 hours necessitating the use of the key.

Thanks chaps. It didn't turn on again just when starting the car for some reason. But the reprogramming routine seemed to turn it on? All is well. My problem was compounded by the key only working to lock the car and not unlock it at all. Would unlock boot so had to enter via boot to unlock then restart/reprog remote.

Sounds as though the door lock is worn and needs replacing. Have you tried a spare key to unlock ?.What about the passenger door?.

Just in case you are not aware, ANY Ford stick type key will lock the doors but only the right one will open them. As Simmo said, the lock maybe worn or indeed the key itself.
