I have a problem details below..
2.9 24 v
Both radiator fans switch on after 5 secs of starting engine.
coolant level ok
engine temp ok
fuse boxes clean and dry
disconnect large relay under bonnet they switch off
 
suspect temp sender but where is it ?
 
Any ideas anyone ?

that's the default setting. if the a/c is on or if you select demist the windscreen (even if the green a/c light is OFF), then the both fans run in slow mode and will cycle on and off with the a/c compressor.

I meant the two fans in the engine compartment on the radiator.
haven't noticed them running before when engine cold

yep, that's the 2 i'm on about! Grin it forces air through the a/c condensor radiator.
 
have you had any work done on the a/c or heater system lately?
 
as i said earlier, that is the normal fan(s) function.

Andrew is right. They do come on immediately with the AC. Try turning the dial to OFF so the displays show -- on each side. When you start the car from cold the fans should NOT come on.

Problem turned out to be engine temp sensor(next to temp guage sensor)very slight corrosion on connector.
Thanks for help and suggestions.

Had recent problem with fans .fan contolled by engine temp sender.there are two sensors on the front of the engine on the thermostat housing.The sensor with one wire is for the temp guage on the dash the sensor below this has two wires.One wire is feed the other goes to the pcm module.two wires come from the module and go to the fan relay located front drivers side behind headlight..can't miss it it's long and green....  
found fans switch on when thermostat housing is about 95 degrees.

Cruise Control not working

94 Scorpio.Cruise US,suspect leak on rubber hose that goes through bulkhead from engine bay.Took hose off pump and found to leak(Blow or suck), no leak when hose shut off at bulkhead.Help please.  Do I have to take car apart to replace/ check. ?
