Well it's meant to flash when the car is locked, has it been raining where you are ? I had this trouble of the LED being on all the time and it turned out it was rain water getting into the area where the inside of the windsceen and the dash meet. Once that dried out the problem disappeared.

Gaz, Try the fuel cut off button in the trunk. The L.E.D on mine used to do the exact same thing as yours, would blink when car locked but remain illuminated while driving. I also found that if I locked the doors from the inside while driving, as soon as I turned the ignition off the doors would unlock. Make sure the fuel cut off button is pushed in all the way.
