Mmm heard of this happening before.. some seats, once they go all the way back have trouble coming forwards again. Sounds silly but try putting all your weight on it and then moving it forward. Maybe? Dave

Try here The feed to the seat runs inside the car under the carpet so should not have been disturbed - have you the checked the connections under the seats and fuses? HTH Dave

You’re fast! Only the memory and the forward function of the backrest do not work. Looking at the schematics it can not be a fuse, otherwise the backward function should not function as well. It must be a malfunction in the seat memory module. Will investigate tomorrow. It is a complex system, for some reason the memory system does do something (not what it is supposed to do) when the engine is off and my door is open….. I will keep you informed about progress (I hope)…

Dave's right, this is a known problem. I have personally come across it on 2 friend's cars. On one he had to replace the drive motor (it wouldn't run in the other direction) the other he did it the easy way and changed the whole seat.

So a broken drive motor could damage the memory system? Will see if the motor gets any power.

I got the memory working again, so if it possible for a motor to be defect in one direction, the motor needs replacement. Jackcg sais it is possible, any others with this kind of experiences? Otherwise it is the A94 memory module....
