also paul,if the remote still opens the car, check that the boot is not sticking, sometimes i go to open mine and you can hear the solenoid clicking, but the boot refuses to come up,if this happens a good way to stop the boot from sticking is apply talcum powder to the rubber seal, sounds crazy but it works..........

also make your boot smell sweet.... Wink

Talcum powder?  never thought of that ,  I thought Vaseline  was the preferred application   for  sticky  rubbbers.  ( No, Missus, you musn't , Oh,  no, don't laugh,  titter ye not ) Grin

From what i know vaseline ages rubber faster...

There are a lot of rubber conditioners that you can spary on the rubbers and they look and feel like new.

As for the remote, not only the metal contact must be clean but the rubber key that presses the concat loses it's conductivity.

Well.... our Craig recommends the application of Vaseline or talcum powder.  Shocked Lips Sealed

Quite frankly, I don't know for sure if either of these work, but I have heard more positives about the talc.

And you are right about the eraser Craig. That does kinda work.

But Paul... how old and worn is your remote? After all the cleaning, erasing and wotnot, if that still doesn't work, you could always bite the bullet and buy a brand new one.  Yes, its a lot of money but think how much you use it. It could just be the best money you'll spend on your Scorp.

Well, upon taking the remote apart, i found that the conductive rubber on the lock and unlock buttons were well worn although they still work. The boot one, however, is in pristine condition, still got all the conductive rubber dots on it, but even after cleaning with eraser etc etc still doesn't work.

My boot isn't sticky lol nor are the rubbers - all operation real smooth (in true "Jazz Club" stylie).

Could it be more to do with boot lock/solenoid i wonder?

Hello I am afraid if remote works other doors then it is one of 2 things either the boot locking motor or the micro switch mounted just above it, the switch operates the alarm in 1 position and the door opening motor in the other position which is when you press the button Terry
