I have a Ultima 2.3 which has the cd changer. (7000) The LCD screen comes and goes. Some times it is very clear other times it is dull and on the odd occasion its blank, any ideas?

I have the same unit and when I came home from holidays after two weeks, the screen was blank. It was like this for a day or two and then it came back. Today it is kinda flickering but I'm sure it'll be back in full action too. Sometimes the screen goes a bit flickery but it comes back on when the radio has had some use. When I was buying the car last year, the screen did not work so I got the dealer to get a new head unit (at a cost of €500 to him) before I would buy the car. So maybe these screens are known to be a bit faulty.

The 7000 suffers from this problem once in a while - it seems to be due to humidity. Try keeping the removable button key in a warm place over night and cleaning the contacts! Mind did the same over the weekend, but is OK now! Dave

Hmmm, and it has been very humid lately and while I was away - that might explain it all right
