My Heated front screen does not work on my 2.9 24v cossy, ive checked the two fusses which are ok,Ive tried the test by pressing in the heated rear screen for ten seconds & starting the engine, but all I get is a constant tone,is this right?.Or does it mean the central relay needs renewing.

the elements in the screen it's self are notorious for breaking down as well.....
windscreen guys told me (when i had mine replaced),under "normal" circumstances they have a life span of about 5-6 years  ... Undecided...
but 1 or 2 stonechips in certain areas can stop it working as well........

Make sure the earth contacts either side of the windscreen are in good condition.
They are quite clearly visible if you lift the bonnet.
the heated front screen with ONLY operate if the engine is running. Having the ignition on is not enough.

My heated screen only works on the passenger side!
Is this likely to be the element that is broken or should I do the full check of fuses, earth contacts etc?
Anyone else had the same problem?

Fuses 38 and 41 in the auxillary fuse box are for the front heated screen

38 for the right and 41 for the left....

Thanks for the tip about the fuses Snoopy.
Unfortunately I jJust tried swapping them around but still got the same problem.
I can only assume that the element must be broken?
I just thought it strange that exactly half doesn't work.
Does anyone know if they are two seperate elements that operate totally independently?
That might expain it.
I thought that the whole screen would either work or not?!
