Oil Filter for 24v

Anyone else here encountered problems getting a Motorcraft oil filter from Ford for their 24v?

I went to my local Ford dealer this morning who said they had one last oil filter in stock, so I snapped it up (like you do Wink ) and took the 20 mile journey to Luton where my car is stored.

Brother-in-law went to fit said filter and the bore was too large!

We then went up to the very large Ford dealership in Dunstable who told us that there are only two known Ford oil filters that fit the Cosworth still available.  One was a more 'stumpy' type whereas the one we got was more like the one we removed.  Thread was OK too.

Just wondered if anyone else has had problems getting the Ford filterHuh!

That looks like one of the two we were offered the second time around, and the one we did not choose!  The one we have got is longer/deeper unit as it fits with the shape of the old one we took off.

I presume shape (as long as it can physically fit in the space) and volume of the unit is not critical?

Interestingly the list of options on the box stated it was for a Ford Taunus

Hi DJ

why not try FordPartsUK http://www.fordpartsuk.com- very reliable. They usually have plenty of things. I ordered 2  EFL298s recently - arrived a few days later  Smiley

Thanks, am aware of them but I have a Ford dealer no more than 5 minutes away who have been extremely reliable over the past year supplying parts for the re-build, this is the first mistake they made.
