Rumble in the Rear !

After reading these boards for 12 months and hearing the sorry and sometimes gruesome stories of rear wheel bearing failure, my Scorp, an attention seeker of great standing , is petulantly drowning out the stereo with heavy metal grooving sounds from the offside rear. I predict my bank balance will be lighter by a few quid by the end of the week and we'll have to eat the kids Bah! Bumhug

I can't remember if it was on this forum, but your problem reminds me of an exchange I once saw: "I've a high pitched, continuous whining coming from the passenger side." The solution offered was: "Remove female from passenger seat"

I think the final straw was loading up the boot with my sister's dismantled brick fireplace ( must have weighed half a ton !) and rather than have several trips to the local council tip we loaded it up till the exhaust was in danger of a severe road scraping. Strange thing is, it's the wheel bearing that was replaced a few years ago that has failed, and the original 9 year old factory fitted one on the nearside is still OK.
