Poor start mystery

I have encountered this same problem on a previous 2.3 Scorp and now my 2.3 Galaxy. Cold start, turn key to start, fires up but dies straight away. Turn key to start again engine turns over (seems to be faster than normal on starter) wouldn't fire. I then went through the flooded procedure, foot slowly to floor on throttle, turned key and after a good many tries she eventually fired on 1, 2, 3 and then all 4. Now when it did this on the Scorp (once in 3 years of ownership) i had no more problems, engine ran fine, i did pop car down to local garage on that occasion and he said that no fault code was presnt. The galaxy has done it twice in 2 years? Fired up but died just as quick, takes ages to start after that, again foot to floor and crank till eventally all cylinders fire. This time the Galaxy has a hesitation/ missfire on acceleration. She will cruise happily, just been on a 300 mile trip with only this problem on acceleration. I know its a long shot but any views would be greatly appreciated.
