Depends on how far in its broken. Can you get any kind of hold on it? vice grips? weld something onto it? Failing that drill it out or use a left hand thread bolt remover drilled into the centre of it.

I experienced the same problem 1 month ago.. Must be a common problem..I solved the problem by drilling out the piece. Be careful..the engine box is made of alloy, and one could remove to much.. After that I made a new tapping. The biggest problem I experienced was getting space in the engine appartment. I had to remove the drive belt - some of the waterpump - the cooler etc..Took some time..

That's two owners in as many weeks with exactly the same trouble, thanks guys, I won't be tempted to remove the stat , I'll leave well alone. BTW, this little component gets a lot of publicity on the Scorp board, but has anyone found the replacement of the stat cured their problem?

My car never got to the right operating temperature.. Therefore I changed the thermostat.. Never found out whether it was a problem with the thermostat or the gauge/sensor.. But now it is working properly..
