Get the autobox oil and filter done at a specialist.  There is no drain plug on the sump, so can be messy.  Also they have the right tools / equipment to get all the oil out of the gearbox.

Brake discs, are pretty straight forward, although you will need a brake calliper wind back tool for the rears, and a large "G" clamp to push the front calliper piston back in.

Wheel bearings, again strightforward enough.

With regards the missing buttons try this fix posted some time ago Quote:
Hi all,

I know a lot of users have trouble with this, mainly down to firewall/ad-blocking software.

I have had the missing buttons problem on my system, so I thought I'd look into it.  This is a guide to a fix on Norton Personal Firewall (2003) - hopefully users of other firewall software might use this as a guide to sorting the problem on their machines...

1.) In NPF main screen, click the 'Options' button.
2.) Click the Web Content tab.
3.) Add the site  'www.fordscorpio.co.uk' to the list on the left.
4.) Select it from the list, then click 'Ad Blocking' tab.
5.) Click the Add button to customize the "Ad Block list".
6.) Enter the text "_derived" (but without the quotes) and click the Permit blob (radio button, if you webbies prefer).
7.) Click OK as many times as necessary to leave NPF Options.
8.) Go to www.fordscorpio.co.uk in your browser and do a "hard" page refresh to re-load the page from the web server.

For those without Norton, try to find where your ad-blocking software keeps its 'exclude' settings and force it to enable anything under www.fordscorpio.co.uk with "_derived" in the URL.

All being well, you should now see the elusive buttons.

Or use this page to search from  http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/index2.htm

there is a search facilty at the bottom of the page

The brake  disc job is probably the simplest, the wheel  bearing job requires  an  oversized socket for hub nut removal ,  and some posters have had trouble drifting out  the old    bearings/oil seal.   The    gearboxoil    change    is best left to the garage that  is prepared to do it    ( some don't ).

i did my own oil and filter change, quite simple to do, but you will get covered in oil, and i mean covered!, as locky said there is no sump plug for draining on the box. get the parts from ford (they are cheap) apart from the oil. get the correct oil from halfords. total cost for parts incl oil is around £60. should take 2-3 hrs.

how long does it take to cahnge each bearing if all goes well?  On the repairs section of the main site i see you have to actually remove the carrier and take it to the bench??  Cant the bearings be changed in situ?

Nope , Embarassed  Two bearings are fitted,  and   it's   impossible to drift them  and the oil seals  out  with the carrier  still   attached to  the     hub/axle.

ok well i am trying to find info on the main site for the procedure of changing front bearings and the tools reqd.

No luck tho?

Found info on rear bearings but not front.

Think i will just get a garage to do it.  kind of defeats the object of this site really but there we are.

Well the fronts can be something you wish you never started due to the large nut that holds the hub on.
They can be a nightmare to get off & unless you fancy a challenge I would leave them to a garage.

Front wheel bearings can be done but getting the old bearings out can be quite a task if you don't have the right tools. When I did mine I was lucky enough to have access to a hydraulic press and could press the old one out and the new one in. That being said it tooks more than 4 tons per square inch to get the old one out!!

As for the site not being much use..... there are people on here who will go out of their way to help anyone and all you have to do is ask. It can't be the fault of the site that you don't have the necessary tools to do any job. Sorry for the rant but these guys are doing a brilliant job for us and all for free!!!
