are the brake discs on the 2.9 24v the same as the 2.9 12v and other models?

The quick answer is the front no, but the back depends if it's a estate. Yes if it is.

so correct me if i am wrong, but the front are 278 x 24mm and the rear on a saloon are 270 x 24mm ??

Actually thinking about it you best check your disks?
Some of the last 12V's had a Cosworth set up at the front & backs also changed around, most I think actually have the smaller vented rears on the Estate & others again have the Cossie set-up?
Not a quick answer really, you need to check.
 
Cosworth set up is 278 x 24mm & 273 x 20 mm on the rear of the Saloon & Estate.
 
Make sure they are 4 studs as the Mk3 is the same sizes?
