Dual Climate Control Problem
« on: Dec 20th, 2005, 10:05pm »

OK, been running the car for the last couple of days and now starting to iron out all the little 'bugs'!

We've noticed that on the passenger side temperature control on the dual climate control system when using the 'up/down' buttons this does not change the actual temperature. it remains piping hot on the passenger side.

The display changes OK to show lower temperatures but it makes no difference to the actual temperature.

Anyone help on this one please?

Drivers side is fine btw.

Do a climate control reset, that is one of the many syptoms that can occur when a reset is needed. We all know form past experiences it can take severla attempts to reset correctly.

Well worth trying though

Tried the full system reset this morning but can not get it to do it  Angry

Embarassed...but on another note, I thought I would check the four electrical connections to the heater matrix box behind the panelling (as I had swapped out the heater matrix while the car was off the road), and sure enough, on the passenger side the rear connector was not attached!

Seems to be working fine now Wink

Getting the final full diagnostic checks done tomorrow so we'll see what error codes we get from that.

Angry...just after connecting up the heater box connector and the system seeming to work fine I ran round the block and there were a couple of clicks and thumps from the heater box and now it only blows hot air from the passenger side again!

Hi everyone this is my first post,I have only just found the site.
I have exactly the same problem with my 2/98 Scorpio, driver`s side great, passenger side constantly hot.
After the summer the heater did not work at all,so I had to have a new Matrix fitted. When I got the car back I found the above problem so sent it back.
The garage told me that the problem is the passenger side Motor Assembly, which unfortunately Ford no longer make, and I cannot find one anywhere.

Kind regards to all

Hello Highlander
If you select air conditionig on the main page, then Climate control, you`ll find nine component boxes.Click on heater housing and you will find the Motor Assembly.
I need the one on the passenger side with all the connections etc.
Thanks

With all due respect thingyerel, this thread was started by myself as I requested heater motors and control unit, if you need one it would be more ethical to submit your own separate thread in the wants pages Wink

Highlander, you still got a spare motor?
