Engine Smoking !!

Hello All, I was driving down the dual carriage way in my 2.3 ultimate estate... I stopped at a set of traffic lights notice that smoke was coming through the air vents and noticed that smoke was coming from underneath the bonet.. I pulled over and lifted the bonet up notice smoke was at the back of the engine near the bulk head.. At first glance I cannot see where the smoke is coming from but have noticed the under tray is a bit wet.. I also know I have a power steering leak but like I say the smoke is at the back of the engine what could be the cause... I.E. Is there a wiring loom behind there.. Also I can hear a clicking noise inside the car when the car is idoling.. Anybody have any ideas on what this could be Regards Music Master ( Mike )

Check the cooler pipes to the gear box cooler they tend to go porous as I found out, and at the pressure they operate at, they spray out a fine mist which goes every where. the only other place is the power steering fluid. you need to get underneath with the tray off and engine running to find out where its from .

Glad to see that you're sorted. Assume you didn't go berzerk with steamer. See site posts for damage that can result. david
