Hi all, Just before Christmas I bought an Ultima 16v auto estate as a temporary car.Having used it a few times now I'm quite taken to it,the deciding factor on keeping it was this site though !
Thanks to all who operate and contribute to it  Smiley

I have spent Christmas reading through the FAQ's and back posts to find some answers to questions I have, but wonder it anyone could answer a couple more ?

The car was first registered in November 94 so is an early car, is most information here applicable to 'early' cars or has there been major mechanical and electrical design changes ?

One problem with the car is the non functioning of any of the interior lights .I have found that the fuse feeds the int lights and the radio but the radio works OK ?
If the interior lights are switched on (even though they don't work) the battery is drained overnight to the point that the car wont start.Any ideas as to where to start looking for the problem ?

Many thanks in advance for any assistance.

Cheers Kevin

Take them out and have a look, you may find someone has tried a "modification" to the wiring over the past 11 years Smiley

Hi Kevin,

welcome to the site  Smiley

Re the interior lights, some berk had put an inline fuse in my circuit, its under the dash, I assume it is not standard fit! Might be worth checking your car for this  Wink

Have a look at this link for production changes:

Thanks for the replies  Smiley

Any idea if revised items for later cars such as -

31/01/95 EECV module revised - DOHC2000 16V model
20/06/95 Revised central locking/PATS module fitted

are backwards compatible ?

Cheers Kevin
